After School Enrichment Programs- Spring 2023
The mission of Pittsford PTSA's After School Enrichment Program is to provide safe and supervised after-school educational, enriching and/or recreational programs for school-age children in grades K-5. Building PTSA's choose programs based on their individual demographics, interest level, and parent commitment. All programs require the approval of the Pittsford District and the building principal.
Please note: Programs on this page are for Mendon Center Elementary students only. Before registering your child for any ASE courses, please read the ASE Policies . It is especially important to read and understand policy #12 about parent volunteers.
If a program is full when you try to register, use the waitlist form to be put on a waiting list for that program.

Join us for this fun, upbeat dance class that uses kid-friendly music & moves to help foster rhythm, coordination, strength, and flexibility. Stretchy, comfortable clothing should be worn, as well as clean sneakers. Also, it is recommended that students bring a water bottle. The class will be taught by Elise Gaudino, Director of Visions Dance Studio. She has taught dance in Henrietta for over 25 years and continues to bring passion and energy to all of her classes and students.

Join in on the fun of learning Chess with the Rochester Chess Center. Chess is designed to build critical- thinking skills, self-confidence, sportsmanship, and learning from mistakes in a challenging and exciting way.
The Rochester Chess Center has been part of the Rochester Community for over 30 years and enjoys teaching throughout Monroe County schools.
Exploring Art (No Spring Session)

Explore a wide variety of ways to express yourself through art. Students will have a chance to explore various mediums such as charcoal, pastels, watercolor, tempera, collage, clay, and others. They will be challenged to create visual solutions to creative problems while having fun! Students will also learn some new techniques with each of the mediums.

Kidding Around Yoga is, in essence, stress management for kids. Students in grades 1-5 receive creative instruction in meditation, breathing practices, relaxation, and therapeutic poses. KAY incorporates a series of creative games and yoga-based activities that emphasize the "whole child," combined with original music designed for fun, play and active learning.

Rainbow Clubs are elementary versions of what are often known as GSA's. Rainbow Club supports younger students and their diverse families. It is open to all students- kids who identify as LGBTQ+, kids with families who are LGBTQ+, and allies who support their friends and families. Each week will include reading a diverse picture book, a craft and themed activities that promote inclusion.

Drama Kids’ extensive and comprehensive curriculum was designed by educators, and is the result of more than 35 years of experience and continuous development. While kids are learning and developing new creative thinking styles and skills, they are also developing other important life skills, including public speaking. ALL Drama Kids programs are guaranteed to be both educational and FUN!

Let your imagination run wild as we build and explore with Legos. Weekly themes will jump start ideas for students to build and play together. Instructors will provide students with theme-related models to serve as inspiration. Then play will continue independently or in groups to make Lego creations tied to the theme. Possibilities are endless! Legos will be provided.
